The planetary plot thickens!
Venus retrograde is just part of the current planetary story in the cosmos.Rahu, Pluto and Mars also factor strongly into this Venus retrograde phase.Due to the complexity of this transit, I will be adding a third part to this forecast by the middle of February.
Key Dates for Venus Retrograde: 12/9-12 Venus conjunct Pluto #1 occurred at 1:34 Capricorn (remember - I use sidereal calculations!). Venus Embarks Upon a New Eight Year Mission of Transformation!
The outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, move so slowly compared to the traditional planets (Sun to Saturn) used in Vedic astrology. I rarely write much about outer planet influences since they tend to have more long term and generational effects.
However, powerful Pluto is very involved at the start of this new eight year Venus cycle. (read part one of my Venus retrograde forecast here). On December 25, Venus passed by Pluto for the second time in one week due to its retrograde motion.
Pluto is an interesting planet. Some categorize Pluto as an asteroid...whatever it is labeled, history bears out that Pluto does have a significant astrological importance. Since Venus passed by Pluto twice in the last week and will again in February, it is an important piece of this astrological puzzle for this new eight year Venus cycle.
Pluto is most associated with: ▪ Breakdown and Decay
▪ Regeneration and Amplification
▪ Mysteries and the Underworld
▪ Negative Qualities of the Psyche - such as hatred/jealousy, greed and lust.
Pluto certainly exhibits archetypal destructive attributes and is often personified as Kali the Destroyer. Pluto also has regenerative qualities and a creative side often associated with Shakti, as the universal divine feminine energy that is the force of life and evolution.
When another planet comes into close contact with Pluto, as Venus has, the archetypal characteristics of that planet can be intensified through their meeting!
The Pluto influence can also empower the houses that Venus rules in the horoscope. The watch-out is this powerful energy from Pluto with Venus can sometimes create a compulsive extreme. It can signal power struggles associated with people signified by the house that Venus rules. It can also manifest as internal and/or external battles. And dramatic personal transformation. Especially in this case for Libra and Taurus rising.Because Venus rules these two signs!
