The New Moon on June 20/21 is a Solar eclipse.
For those on the west coast it will be late evening June 20 and for the east coast of the US it will occur on June 21. Eclipses are considered to be great times for spiritual practice, but not much else! If you want to learn more about eclipses I have an article posted on my blog.
he second in this series of three eclipses (yes, THREE!) occurs in the sign of Gemini and within the nakshatra of Mrigashira.
A RARE EVENT!
In many time zones, this eclipse occurs the same day Summer Solstice, which is on June 20 at 2:43pm Pacific Time.
The only other time an annular solar eclipse happens at the same times as Summer Solstice in this century is on June 21, 2039.
All of the dual signs -- Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces will be feeling the intense energy of this eclipse! But particularly those who are in the planetary cycle or sub-cycle of Mars. Or if your rising degree is in the 4-7 degree range of any of these signs or the other air signs, Libra or Aquarius.
Since the Moon is mind, emotions and intuition it is a great time to do inner work. If you can hold off on major life changing decisions until a few days after the eclipse, that is ideal - but sometimes eclipses will force important decisions - I have personally experienced this during an eclipse.
For all other rising signs, the house that Gemini represents in your birth chart does connect to a very specific area of your life. Don't miss your horoscope with all the details.
Fiery Mars is in aspect to this eclipse and Saturn, while not technically not in aspect to Gemini and the eclipse, it is almost at the exact same degree as the eclipse, which I do consider to be significant and potentially heavy energy that could be in conflict with the Mars influence.
Additionally Mercury, ruler of Gemini went retrograde June 17 in Gemini, the sign where this eclipse occurs. All Mercury related matters such as business, writing, communication around this time will be extremely challenging.
