APRIL 10, 2025
A message from Pamela:
The spring eclipse season is (thankfully) behind us! I hope the past few weeks brought insight, not too much upheaval — and maybe even a little peace.
But while the eclipses may be over, the cosmos isn’t exactly settling down. With Saturn changing signs on March 29 for the first time in over 2.5 years — and Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu all shifting signs in May. There’s still plenty of planetary movements ahead. And it's not subtle!
This April 12 Full Moon gives us one last, powerful opportunity this year to consciously work with endings — especially those tied to the themes of Virgo, and the house Virgo represents in your personal chart.
All the details are below in the Lunar Lowdown. Plus rising sign forecasts to help you navigate this moment with clarity.
Until next time, keep looking up —
✨ Pamela

Lunar Lowdown: Full Moon in Virgo - A Portal of Precision, Completion & Rebirth

FULL MOON DETAILS
Date & Time: April 12, 2025 - 5:21PM Pacific Time
Sign & Degree: 29°07' Sidereal Virgo
Nakshatra: Chitra
Nakshatra Deity: Tvastar
Nakshatra Ruling Planet: Mars
Full Aspects: Jupiter, Mercury, Venus (retrograde), Saturn, Ketu
Once again, we find ourselves focusing in on the Virgo–Pisces axis for this lunation. Not only are we completing a lunar cycle, but the Moon is full within the very last degree of sidereal Virgo, which represents a potent degree of closure.
Shortly after the Moon reaches fullness, the Sun slips out of Pisces and into Aries, adding to this sense that something significant is ending — and something equally significant is poised to begin as Sun moves into its sign of exaltation.
It is important to note that Sun is in the *gandanta zone for the Full Moon day through April 14.
*Gandanta refers to critical junctions where water signs meet fire signs in the sidereal zodiac. As Sun moves from Pisces to Aries (April 12-14), it crosses the Pisces-Aries gandanta or "karmic knot." During this transition, matters related to identity, authority, and leadership may feel uncertain as old paradigms dissolve before new ones form. This amplifies the Full Moon's theme of completion and preparation for new beginnings
This is a time to review the blueprint before the building begins.
Endings that Rebuild: The Chitra Full Moon and the Art of Conscious Completion

Endings that Rebuild: The Chitra Full Moon and the Art of Conscious Completion
Chitra, “the brilliant,” is ruled by the celestial artisan Tvastar, a deity associated with divine craftsmanship and creative precision. This nakshatra gives form to vision — it wants beauty, balance, symmetry, and skill. It’s where design meets destiny.
The following excerpt about Chitra Nakshatra is from my book Vedic Astrology for Beginners: An Introduction to the Origins and Core Concepts of Jyotish:
Deity: Tvastar
Symbol: Pearl or Jewel
Shakti: Power to Gain Honor in Work
Quality: Soft, Mild, Tender
Chitra, or the bright one, has within its 13°20' of celestial space one of the most auspicious and bright stars, named Spica, which is at the very end of the sign Virgo.
The symbol for Chitra is a bright shining jewel or a pearl. When an irritant gets between the shell of the oyster, it creates mother-of-pearl, which lines the interior of the shell and eventually forms a pearl. Likewise, those with a strong Chitra influence can create a gem or pearl of their own. However, they are unable to do so without experiencing an irritant, such as turmoil, or until some great provocation has occurred.
This excerpt from my book offers timeless insight into the energy of Chitra. Now, let’s look at what this nakshatra is asking of us during this Full Moon in April 2025.
With the Full Moon in Chitra at 29° Virgo, we are asked: What are you building, and is it aligned with your soul’s higher blueprint? There may be an urge to refine, organize, or even dismantle something in order to rebuild it more beautifully — with care, with purpose, with integrity.
The Planetary Panoply: Precision Amid Pressure
The Full Moon is connected to so many other planetary influences! Jupiter is one of the strongest influences, but Mercury, Venus (retrograde), Saturn, and Ketu are all in the mix, creating both pressure and potential.
Jupiter lends expansion, wisdom, and moral perspective to the Full Moon endings.
Saturn, the great Karmic taskmaster, adds gravity and realism. He asks us to consider: Is what you’re creating or letting go of sustainable?
Mercury, ruler of Virgo and the sign of the Full Moon, is still in Pisces. This can muddy mental clarity or cause us to second-guess our decisions. But it also invites deep internal processing.
Venus retrograde in Pisces adds another layer to the Moon’s otherwise practical manner in Virgo. Venus is also in an exchange (parivartana yoga) with Jupiter through May 14, balancing spirituality with material desires.
Ketu, the tail of the serpent, casts it's shadow of detachment and spiritual yearning energies to the Full Moon. Ketu reminds us that not everything needs to be fixed. Some things are simply meant to be released. Third influence around endings as Ketu is very detached.

♈ ARIES (Meṣa): Full Moon in the 6th House
This Full Moon highlights what’s no longer sustainable in your day-to-day life — whether that’s a health habit, a work rhythm, or how you handle responsibilities. With Mars, your chart ruler, currently struggling back through emotional and watery Cancer while retracing its retrograde steps, your usual fiery drive may feel muted and emotionally charged. Chitra’s disciplined influence encourages you to refine rather than push. Jupiter offers insight into what’s actually worth your energy, while Ketu’s presence reminds you that you don’t have to fix everything — especially not all at once. Let go of the grind. This is a time for strategic surrender, not burnout.
♉ TAURUS (Vṛṣabha): Full Moon in the 5th House
Something you’ve poured your heart into — maybe a creative project or a casual romantic connection — may be reaching a natural conclusion. This Full Moon shines a clarifying light on what no longer inspires joy or feels aligned with your growth. Chitra nakshatra encourages you to step back and evaluate: Is this built on a solid foundation, or has it become more effort than inspiration? Jupiter offers wisdom around what’s truly worth your energy, while Ketu insists that you release attachment to outcomes. With Venus, your chart ruler, in mutual exchange with Jupiter through mid-May, themes of self-worth and the connection to community and earnings are highlighted. Let go of anything that feels performative. Creative fulfillment must come from within.
♊ GEMINI (Mithuna): Full Moon in the 4th House
A subtle shift is occurring in your inner world — something you may not fully grasp yet, but you can sense it. The structures that once felt familiar or comforting may now feel distant or outdated. With the Full Moon landing in your 4th house and Chitra nakshatra, you’re being called to examine what home and emotional security really mean to you now. Jupiter’s grace offers a big picture perspective, but Ketu’s influence may bring a strange sense of detachment from the very things that once grounded you. It’s okay if clarity feels just out of reach. This is a time for quiet release, not immediate answers.
♋ CANCER (Karka): Full Moon in the 3rd House
You may find yourself quietly re-evaluating where and with whom you invest your energy. This part of the chart is activated around close friends, siblings, written communication, and the courage to act. As your chart ruler, the Moon brings an added layer of personal significance to this lunation. Chitra’s discerning influence encourages refinement in how you express your ideas or pursue your goals. With Ketu’s presence, you might feel an unexpected detachment from things that once felt urgent. Jupiter’s aspect offers a reminder that some forms of progress happen through spiritual growth, not striving. A relationship with a close friend or sibling may need to be restructured in light of what’s shifting within you.
♌ LEO (Siṁha): Full Moon in the 2nd House
Themes around security, finances, and personal values may feel unsettled under this Full Moon. Something you’ve relied on — whether materially or emotionally — may be reaching its expiration date. Chitra’s influence invites you to refine what you’re building your life upon, especially when it comes to values passed down through your family of origin or culture. With Ketu involved, there can be an unraveling of attachments to stability as you’ve known it. Jupiter shares wisdom and perspective, helping you align with what truly matters. As your ruling planet, the Sun, crosses a gandanta zone, you’re stepping away from old fears around shared resources into a deeper sense of purpose — but it may feel disorienting before it becomes clear.
♍ VIRGO (Kanyā): Full Moon in the 1st House
You may feel like something is shifting within you, but the shape of that change is still unclear. This Full Moon lands at the very end of your all important first house. It’s a deeply personal part of the chart, connected to your identity, body, and sense of purpose. Yet with Mercury, your chart ruler, currently weak, it may be hard to put your finger on exactly what’s changing. Chitra’s disciplined influence invites you to refine how you show up in the world, while Ketu’s presence brings detachment from the identity you’ve been holding onto. Jupiter's glance does offer some wisdom and grace — reminding you that even when clarity is elusive, growth is still happening.
♎ LIBRA (Tulā): Full Moon in the 12th House
Something is dissolving beneath the surface — perhaps an old dream, a spiritual ideal, or an unconscious pattern you’ve outgrown. This Full Moon occurs at the very end of your chart, in the 12th house — the realm of endings, release, and retreat. Chitra nakshatra’s influence brings refinement even here, asking you to let go with discernment and care. With Venus, your chart ruler, still retrograde and conjunct Saturn in Pisces, there may be a sober reassessment of what — or who — is truly worth your energy and sacrifice. The lengthy mutual exchange between Venus and Jupiter activates deeper themes of service, wellness and transformation. Ketu’s presence invites you to surrender control, while Jupiter offers wisdom and grace. Not everything must be understood to be healed.
♏ SCORPIO (Vṛścika): Full Moon in the 11th House
Social or business networks may be losing their luster. Your connections to spiritual groups or other communities may be up for review. This Full Moon in your 11th house asks you to reconsider your long-term relationships to your broader community and what you earn from your career. What are you actually working toward, and who are you hoping to reach? With Mars, your chart ruler, currently struggling through Cancer (again!) while retracing its retrograde steps, you may feel like you’re spinning your wheels. It may not be time to act, although you may no longer be aligned with where you’ve been. Chitra’s influence urges you to refine your definition of success. Ketu’s detachment and Jupiter’s grace work together here: let go of outdated connections and trust that something more meaningful is forming in the distance.
♐ SAGITTARIUS (Dhanu): Full Moon in the 10th House
A chapter is closing around your public role, reputation, or career path. The 10th is the most powerful house in the chart, and this Full Moon may bring clarity around what’s no longer aligned with your sense of purpose. With the recent eclipse energies still lingering, something about how you’ve been seen by others is shifting or dissolving. Jupiter, your chart ruler, is still in a rare exchange with retrograde Venus, calling for deep alignment between your daily responsibilities and what creates peace of mind and emotional security. Chitra nakshatra encourages you to build with care and intention — not for approval, but for meaning. Let go of roles or goals that no longer fit. Something more authentic is ready to emerge.
♑ CAPRICORN (Makara): Full Moon in the 9th House
Your connection to philosophy, spirituality, or a guiding teacher may be shifting. This Full Moon in your 9th house invites you to reflect on what still holds meaning — and release what no longer resonates. With Ketu in the same sign as the Moon, there’s detachment, but it also creates the potential to make space for new wisdom. Chitra’s influence calls for refinement, not rejection — keep what still feels true. Saturn has just moved into Pisces, shifting how you express and process your emotions. For some, long-distance travel or cross-cultural connections may also be in flux. Jupiter’s glance helps you look at the bigger picture, even if the path ahead feels somewhat fuzzy right now. Let go of borrowed beliefs. Make space for a truth that’s your own.
♒ AQUARIUS (Kumbha): Full Moon in the 8th House
This Full Moon illuminates a part of your life that is often hidden — the realm of uncertainty, loss, and deeper karmic transformation. Something may be coming to an end around shared resources or other entanglments you didn’t initiate but are still affected by. Ketu's influence to the Full Moon may bring a sense of detachment from what’s unfolding. Chitra nakshatra supports releasing what is necessary. Saturn, your chart ruler, has just moved into Pisces, beginning a long-term shift in how you manage what you value both personally and materially. Jupiter’s wise influence can help you trust the process, even if answers are elusive right now. Let go of needing certainty. Some mysteries are meant to remain unsolved — at least for now.
♓ PISCES (Mīna): Full Moon in the 7th House
This Full Moon turns the spotlight on your closest and most committed relationships — both personal and professional. Ketu's influence to the Full Moon may be dissolving expectations, an agreement, or emotional attachments to how things were supposed to be in relationships. Chitra’s influence invites you to step back and assess what’s truly worth investing in. Venus, retrograde and conjunct Saturn in your rising sign, is asking you to redefine how you show up — not just in partnership, but in your own skin. Jupiter, your chart ruler, is still in exchange with Venus, linking your personal growth with how you comunicate your truth. Let go of connections that no longer reflect who you are becoming. A more honest version of togetherness can only grow from self-alignment.
