A message from Pamela:

This month’s New Moon falls on the evening of Memorial Day here in the U.S.—a day set aside to honor those who lost their lives in service to this country.

As we reflect under this powerful Moon, I want to take a moment to honor and remember those who lived—and died—to preserve the ideals of democracy.

This feels especially relevant under this New Moon in Rohiṇī, which is both deeply nourishing and unflinchingly honest. It forms a rare trine to Pluto and receives Saturn’s steady gaze, asking us to plant only what we’re willing to tend with integrity, patience and endurance.

This isn’t a just a "soft" lunation in the loveliest if the Moon's wives, Rohini. It’s New Moon beauty with backbone. Growth with consequence. Comfort in conversation with power. Whether you’re seeking clarity, navigating a life change, or trying to reclaim your voice—this New Moon is a powerful support for new beginnings!

Lunar Lowdown: New Moon in Taurus - Planting Truth in Tender Soil

New Moon in Rohiṇī Nakshatra | May 26, 2025, 8:01 PM PT | South Indian Sidereal Chart

New Moon Snapshot: Your Lunar Coordinates

  • Date & Time: May 26, 2025 – 8:01 PM Pacific Time

  • Sign & Degree: 11°52’ Sidereal Taurus

  • Nakshatra: Rohiṇī – “The Red One,” Star of Fertility and Manifestation

  • Deity: Brahma – the Creator

  • Ruling Planet: Moon

  • Full Aspect From: Saturn (3rd aspect from Pisces), Conjunct Mercury

  • Additional Influence: Trine from Pluto (Uttara Ashāḍhā, Capricorn)

This New Moon blooms in Rohiṇī nakshatra, the most fertile and charismatic of the Moon's wives. It's a very supportive New Moon and nakshatra for planting something new, something real, something worth growing—literally and metaphorically. I will definitely be out in my vegetable garden planting some flowers and veggies with this stable nature of Rohiṇī and the  New Moon energy once the Moon begins to wax! The good news is Moon remains in the first tithi (phase) in Rohiṇī until Tuesday around 2pm PT, so plenty of time to plant Tuesday morning!

With Rohiṇī activated by the Moon and presided over by Brahma, this is a lunation of creation, desire, and the subtle yet powerful force of embodiment. Rohiṇī draws down the abstract and makes it tangible.

But this New Moon isn't all softness, growth, creation, and beauty!

The New Moon forms a flowing trine from Taurus (supportive earth element harmony) to Pluto in Capricorn/Uttara Ashāḍhā, forcing a confrontation with deeper, more uncomfortable truths. What we choose to plant now will take root only if the soil has been cleared of denial, illusion, or false security. Pluto doesn't tolerate pretty little lies. It demands integrity at the root.

Adding to the complexity, Saturn casts its full strength 3rd aspect onto this New Moon. Structure, accountability, and a realistic perspective for new beginnings are on the New Moon menu. You may feel pressure to "get serious" about what you're building—especially if you've been avoiding necessary work or boundaries.

This is a lunation for:

  • Choosing truth over comfort—even when it's inconvenient

  • Recommitting to something worth sustaining, especially in the body, home, or creative life

  • Planting intentions with staying power, not just emotional urgency

Let Rohiṇī guide you toward what nourishes real growth. But let Pluto and Saturn strip away anything false first. What you plant now matters.

A Shifting Sky: Major Planetary Moves May 2025

Setting the Astrological Stage

The planetary energetic landscape has undergone major shifts in the weeks leading up to this New Moon!

Jupiter made its once-a-year move into sidereal Gemini earlier this month, opening new channels for learning, communication, and adaptability. On May 18, the nodal axis shifted—Rahu now moves through Aquarius and Ketu through Leo, where they'll remain for the next 18 months. This transit will reshape our collective patterns around power, progress, and purpose, both individually and communally.

Venus finally leaves Pisces on May 30 after a four-month stay due to its retrograde period. For reference, Venus usually spends about a month in each sign. Last but certainly not least, Mars exits its sign of debilitation, Cancer, on June 6—another extremely long transit due to Mars retrograde in Cancer that began October 20, 2024. Seven long months that were especially challenging for Mars-ruled friends with Aries and Scorpio rising. Mars-related matters should be looking up soon!

Here’s how the New Moon in Rohiṇī (with steady Saturn and Pluto’s fierce support) might unfold for each rising sign. Please remember that your individual birth chart will add a lot of nuance to this New Moon experience!

Aries Rising - Values vs. profit: What will your public platform truly serve?

Your personal resources and values are in deep conversation with your public reputation and career authority during this New Moon.

The core tension: Your earning power and what you truly value—personally and financially—is in direct conversation with how you’re seen professionally and the legacy you’re building. With Venus and Saturn mediating, this is happening through some behind-the-scenes spiritual and emotional reckoning.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Forced to choose between what pays well and what aligns with your actual values

  • Required to prove your commitment to your career choices.

  • Be publicly recognized for work that is typically performed behind the scenes

Are you in a field where you must choose between profit and truth? Are you being asked to speak up professionally about something that could cost you financially but aligns with your values?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will your public platform serve your wallet, or will it serve what you believe in?

♉ Taurus Rising - Identity reset: Shedding old beliefs to become who you're meant to be

This New Moon is a major reset for you—it is the only New Moon of the year in your first house, emphasizing aspects of identity, physical presence, and your approach to navigating the world.

The core tension: You’re being asked to step into a truer version of yourself, but Pluto is digging up old dogmas, belief systems, and inherited worldviews that may not fit anymore. With Venus (your chart ruler) working behind the scenes with Saturn, this transformation is happening through your friendships, alliances, and larger vision for the future.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Feeling the urge to reintroduce yourself—to shed an outdated identity or self-concept

  • Questioning established beliefs or ideologies revealing deeper truths

  • Stepping into a new community, mission, or role that demands more authenticity

Are you trying to hold on to an old version of yourself out of loyalty to a past that no longer fits? Are you ready to lead—or trying to earn permission?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Who are you now—and who are you becoming?

♊ Gemini Rising - Shadow work meets public truth: Inner transformation reshaping outer authority

This New Moon pulls you inward, deep into the terrain of what’s hidden, buried, or quietly unraveling. Emotional entanglements, power dynamics, and shared vulnerability are rising to the surface—whether you’re ready or not.

The core tension: You’re being asked to confront what you’ve been holding onto in the shadows—whether that’s grief, debt, fear, or control. Pluto is applying pressure through a lengthy inner transformation and through your shared resources. Meanwhile, Venus and Saturn are facilitating this through your public role: your career, visibility, and authority are being quietly reshaped by this inner transformation.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Realizing that something behind the scenes is ending, shifting, or being released

  • Changing how you present yourself in your career or public role through personal reassessment

  • Power struggles—especially emotional or financial—are asking to be transmuted into clarity and with boundaries

Have you been carrying emotional or energetic burdens that don’t belong to you? Are you being asked to lead or speak publicly while your inner world is in flux?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Can you stand in your public truth without dragging your private ghosts with you?

♋ Cancer Rising - Network audit: Which relationships actually support your growth?

The lunations are always powerful for you Cancer, since this is your chart ruler, and this New Moon is no exception! Your social and professional networks are emphasized now—your allies, collaborators, and the systems you’re plugged into for support and visibility. Especially as they relate to your earning potential.

The core tension: Simultaneously, you’re being asked to clarify which committed partnerships (romantic or business) are truly reciprocal and which are a one-way street. Pluto is breaking down your most important relationships, revealing hidden power dynamics, projections, or unspoken agreements, so that you may create healthy and supportive committed partnerships. Venus and Saturn are mediating this through your belief systems—calling you to take your place as an authority in your chosen work, but on your own terms.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Reevaluating a business partnership or a romantic relationship that you have depended on, which may no longer align with your current values or desired work approach.

  • Determining if your reputation and earning power depend on whether your relationships are built on truth, obligation and shared values

  • Are you investing in systems that no longer support your actual values—or your long-term growth? Are you trading authenticity for approval?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Who genuinely supports you, and do you possess the courage to distance yourself from those who do not?

♌ Leo Rising - Professional spotlight: Is your foundation strong enough for your rising authority?

This New Moon lands squarely in your career and public reputation zone. This is the most visible sector of your chart where your authority, public reputation, and professional identity live. With the Sun (your chart ruler) joined with the New Moon, this is deeply personal: your essence is being called to show up (literally!) in a new way professionally. Meanwhile primordial Pluto is revamping your daily routines, health, and service to others. The behind-the-scenes foundation that supports your public presence and career goals.

The core tension: your body, energy, and day-to-day practices may need to transmute before you can fully embody the professional authority you're being called into. Venus and Saturn are facilitating this through your intimate partnerships and shared resources, asking you to be honest about what you truly need for support.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Stepping into a new level of professional visibility or leadership that requires you to show up differently

  • Coming to terms that your daily habits, health routines, or work processes need an overhaul to support your growing authority

  • Realizing that a partnership—business or personal—is being tested by your evolving identity

Are you ready to be seen as the leader you are naturally, or are you hiding behind smaller versions of yourself? Is your daily life structured to support your biggest professional ambitions—or is it holding you back?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you step into the spotlight with your whole self, or limit yourself to avoid the responsibility of your own power?

♍ Virgo Rising - Expanding worldview: Let new beliefs reshape how you love and create

The New Moon in Rohini provides an opportunity for a fresh start in your beliefs, higher education, and spiritual practice. The 9th house governs not just what you think, but how you think—your worldview, spiritual framework, and the bigger picture that guides your decisions.

Pluto from Capricorn is concurrently stirring up and revamping your approach to creative expression, romantic life, and authentic self-expression. It is time to excavate what truly brings you joy versus what you think should bring you joy.

The core tension: your expanding worldview is demanding that you show up more authentically in love, creativity, and self-expression. Venus and Saturn are mediating this through your daily work and health routines, requiring you to integrate these shifts into your practical, everyday life.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • You may be questioning long-held beliefs or educational paths that no longer reflect who you're becoming

  • Realizing that this is the time to seed teaching others or to share your evolving perspective in a more public way

  • You may be discovering that your creative or romantic expression has been filtered through outdated belief systems

Are you ready to let your creative and romantic life reflect your evolving beliefs—or are you

operating from inherited ideas about what you "should" want? Is your expanding worldview asking you to risk being seen as different from who you used to be?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you let your bigger vision reshape how you love, create and find joy—or keep your growth safely intellectual?

♎ Libra Rising - Balancing shared resources with personal transformation

The New Moon in Rohiṇī activates your 8th house of shared resources both romantic and business resources and transformation. This is where you merge with others—financially, emotionally, sexually—and where you face your deepest fears about dependency and power.

Pluto from Capricorn is concurrently transforming your 4th house of home, family, roots, and emotional foundation. The deepest layers of your psyche, your family patterns, and what "security" means to you are being completely restructured.

The core tension: Your intimate partnerships and shared financial arrangements are in direct dialogue with your evolving sense of home and emotional security. Venus and Saturn are mediating this through your daily routine and responsibilities, requiring you to integrate these deep changes into your practical routines and service to others.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Renegotiating financial arrangements with partners or questioning how money flows in your closest relationships

  • Discovering that your family patterns or childhood conditioning around security are blocking intimacy

  • Realizing that your daily work and health routines need to support these deeper transformations rather than distract from them

  • Being asked to share resources or vulnerability in ways that challenge your need for balance and harmony

Are you ready to let your partnerships and shared resources reflect your evolving sense of security—or are you clinging to "balanced" arrangements that keep you from true intimacy? Is your transformation asking you to risk the harmony you've built by going deeper than what's comfortable?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you let your deepest transformation reshape how you share power and resources—or keep playing it safe with surface-level "balance"?

Scorpio Rising - Partnership mirror: Authentic connection over emotional manipulation

Your key partnerships are being scrutinized with this New Moon landing in your 7th house of committed romantic and business partnerships. The mirror of relationship is showing you exactly where you stand in your personal power—and where you might be giving it away.

The core tension: Pluto is reshaping how you communicate with the people closest to you—siblings, neighbors, and chosen family. Old patterns of emotional manipulation or power dynamics that once felt protective are being stripped away, asking you to find courage in speaking your authentic truth. Meanwhile, with Venus exalted (and Saturn-bound) as the ruler of this New Moon, your approach to relationships is maturing. You're learning to attract and sustain connections from a place of genuine strength rather than unhealed wounds.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Ending close relationships that were built on power struggles rather than mutual respect

  • Attracting partnerships that challenge you to show up more authentically and directly

  • Discovering that your communication style has been either too intense or not direct enough

Are you using emotional intensity to control outcomes in relationships? Are you ready to be wanted for who you are, rather than who you think you need to be?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: What foundational truths about relationship are you finally ready to live by?

♐ Sagittarius Rising - Daily alignment: Service that matches your spiritual truth

New and improved daily routines, health practices, and being service to others are supported by the New Moon in your 6th house. This isn't just about tweaking your day-to-day—it's about aligning your habits with your expanding vision of who you're becoming. Saturn advises that you fully commit to the changes you implement and adopt a slow and steady approach to your new plan.

Pluto is gradually influencing your financial and personal values, as well as how you express yourself.

The core tension: your daily grind needs to match your bigger picture beliefs. With Venus as ruler of this New Moon, there's a beautiful but demanding energy asking you to make your service both practical and emotionally meaningful.

What this looks like practically – you may be:

  • Revolutionizing your work life to better serve both your health and your higher purpose

  • Teaching, practicing healing, or serving others in a way that integrates your philosophical beliefs

  • Discovering that your daily habits have been undermining rather than supporting your larger vision

Are you compartmentalizing your spiritual beliefs from your everyday work? Is your daily life structured to support your quest for purpose—or are you just going through the motions?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: What would your life look like if your service came from your core truth rather than obligation?

Capricorn Rising - Creative authenticity: Joy that reflects your evolving identity

Creative self-expression and genuine joy are being illuminated by this New Moon in your 5th house. This New Moon in Rohini is about fully stepping into your creative power and planting seeds for what truly brings you happiness!

Pluto is slowly transforming your identity and how you present yourself to the world, excavating who you really are beneath any masks or roles you've been playing. The core tension: as your self-awareness develops, your creative expression and capacity for joyfulness seeks to align more closely with deeper authenticity. Venus as the dispositor of this New Moon plus your chart ruler Saturn's influence, highlights the opportunity to build something meaningful through creative expression that truly represents who you're becoming.

What this looks like practically—you may be:

  • Launching a creative project that reflects your evolving identity rather than just your professional image

  • Approaching romance or joy from a more authentic place, less concerned with appearances

  • Realising that your creative expression has been constrained by external expectations rather than your true self.

Are you ready to let people see the real you through your creative work and personal joy? Have you been so focused on maintaining a certain image that you've forgotten what actually lights you up?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you let your creative expression reveal your authentic self—or keep it safely contained within your established persona?

♒ Aquarius Rising - Foundation rebuild: Home and belonging that honor your spiritual growth

Your home, family, and emotional foundation are up for a remodel during this New Moon in your 4th house. This isn't just about redecorating your space—it's about restructuring the very ground you stand on, both literally and emotionally.

Pluto is working through your subconscious patterns, spiritual life, and what you've kept hidden in your psyche, bringing deeply buried emotional material to the surface that may be connected to your family history and sense of belonging.

The core tension: unconscious patterns or spiritual insights are asking you to transform your relationship to home and emotional security. With Venus as the dispositor of this New Moon, there's a call to create beauty and harmony in your private world. Saturn's influence requires working through deep, possibly ancestral material.

What this looks like practically—you may be:

  • Moving, renovating, or significantly changing your living situation based on deeper spiritual or emotional insights

  • Addressing unconscious family patterns or ancestral issues that have shaped your sense of belonging

  • Discovering that your need for emotional security is being informed by spiritual growth or other therapeutic work

Are you attemmpting to create emotional security based on old unconscious patterns that no longer serve you? Is your living situation and family dynamic supporting the person you're becoming—or keeping you stuck in outdated versions of yourself?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you build a foundation that honors both your spiritual growth and your need for belonging—or keep trying to fit into spaces that were never meant to hold your full self?

♓ Pisces Rising - Communication evolution: Networks that serve your highest good

Your courage, communication, and daily interactions are being infused with new depth and meaning through this New Moon in your 3rd house. The way you think, write, and connect with your local community and closest friends are shifting toward something more authentic and purposeful.

Meanwhile, Pluto is transforming your broader social and business networks, and income streams, asking you to examine which connections and revenue sources truly align with your values.

The core tension: your evolving communication style and daily interactions are being influenced by a major shift in your social and professional networks. With Venus and Saturn in the New Moon mix, there's both grace and gravity in this shift—your words and connections are becoming more intentional about both meaning and money.

What this looks like practically—you may be:

  • Finding that your communication style is attracting different types of professional or social connections

  • Engaging with your network in ways that prioritize authentic value exchange over surface-level networking

  • Discovering that your daily conversations and writing have the power to generate income or influence your social circles

Are you communicating in ways that keep you connected to networks that don't truly support your growth? Is your voice becoming a bridge between your spiritual insights and your professional community?

The New Moon/Pluto trine is asking: Will you use your evolving communication gifts to build networks that truly serve your highest good—or stay safe in connections that no longer feed your soul?
