March 3 Lunar Eclipse: The Shadowed Heart & Releasing Old Passions

Hi friends,
Two weeks after the Solar Eclipse cracked open the collective in Aquarius, the Moon reached its fullness in Leo early this morning and disappeared during the Lunar Eclipse. The Lunar Eclipse in Purva Phalguni nakshatra asked something more intimate than the Solar Eclipse did: what you have been carrying at your heart center, and whether it still belongs to you.
Opposing the Moon during this pivotal moment, a crowded field in Aquarius holds the Sun, Mars, and a retrograde Mercury, all surrounding Rahu. Explore what is emerging. This is just the beginning...the real work from eclipse season unfolds through mid-March.
Rising sign guides below.
Keep looking up! Pamela
Lunar Eclipse in Purva Phalguni Nakshatra

Date & Time: March 3, 2026 – 3:37 AM PT | 5:37 AM CT | 6:37 AM ET | 11:37 AM GMT
Sign & Degree: 18°40' sidereal Leo
Nakshatra: Purva Phalguni
Deity: Bhaga (the god of fortune, marital union, delight, and prosperity)
Eclipse Influences — Moon conjunct Ketu (Leo) | Opposition: Sun, Mercury Rx, Mars conjunct Rahu (Aquarius) | Wide square: Uranus (Taurus)
This eclipse completed what February 17 began. But where the Solar Eclipse in Dhanistha was oriented toward creating systems and structures, this Lunar Eclipse proved very personal. Purva Phalguni is the nakshatra of rest, pleasure, creativity, and the sweetness that makes a life feel worth living. Its symbol is the front legs of the bed, a place of intimacy, of surrender, of being held. Its presiding deity, Bhaga, governs what we enjoy, what we attract, and what we call our own. The Lunar Eclipse emptied the room that felt most intimately like home.
The Moon was with Ketu, the south node of dissolution and release, and was already vulnerable due to the eclipse. Ketu in Leo asked us to loosen our grip on recognition, on pride, on the performance of self. What we have built our identity around, the creative legacy, the love we expected to be seen in, the desire to be cherished. Ketu asked: what if you released that? What if you didn't need it to be witnessed to be real?
Across the axis in Aquarius, the planetary opposition was loud. The Sun and Mercury were conjunct Rahu, Mercury retrograde, meaning communications, agreements, and inner narratives were distorted at the source. You may have felt certain about something that hadn't fully resolved. Mars entered Aquarius late February, adding friction and the potential for reactive and over-reactive conclusions to the mix. There was just enough noise on the other side of the sky to make the Moon in Leo feel very alone.
Lunar eclipses reveal what emotions have been simmering beneath the surface that the mind had not yet registered.
The wide square from Uranus in Taurus added a current of instability beneath the eclipse energies, and sensory disruptions that have been ongoing now pressed against both the Leo/Aquarius axis and the fixed signs at large (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius). The framework continued to shift. What you stood on may have felt less solid than a season ago.
What this eclipse illuminated on this axis: the tension between personal creative sovereignty and collective belonging. Between what I feel and what we need. Between leading from the heart and sacrificing yourself for a cause.
The rhythm interrupted at the Solar Eclipse reached its full-moon reckoning. What was seeded then in confusion now came into the light, even briefly, imperfectly, before the shadow fell.
Pay close attention to what you felt in the 72 hours before the eclipse, through mid-March. Lunar eclipses operate through the emotional body. The revelation may not have arrived as a clear thought. It will more likely arrive as grief, relief, or a sudden knowing you cannot un-know.

Aries: Release the applause
Creativity, romance, passion projects, and the need to be seen is what the Lunar Eclipse brings up for you. Something you have poured yourself into may be completing its cycle. Ketu with the Moon asks you to release the need for your efforts to be validated, to let the work exist without seeking an audience. With Mars, your chart ruler, currently caught inside Rahu's distortion field in Aquarius, there is a high intensity driving your ambitions, although your emotional foundation may feel strangely quiet, even hollow. What you are capable of next is larger than what you have been reaching toward.
Taurus: Roots, not performances
Your home, family, emotional foundation and the innermost private self that most people do not see at work now asks for release. Something in your emotional space may be loosening. It could be feelings tied to the past, your ancestry, or what you have considered your anchor are now ready to shift. Meanwhile, Uranus continues the long journey to reshape your identity and body from within your sign of Taurus. The tension between who you are becoming and where you came from is palpable now. This is movement at the root level.
Gemini: The story you tell yourself
Watch the narrative. This eclipse is in the realm of communication, close friends and siblings, and Ketu here dissolves certainty you've been building your explanations around. The way you have been describing yourself, your situation, and your choices may suddenly feel like they no longer fit. With Mercury, your chart ruler, retrograde and conjunct Rahu in Aquarius, you are inside a genuine process of internal revision, especially around your world-views and spiritual beliefs. Do not finalize anything that is still rewriting itself. Clarity is coming, but it may take a while.
Cancer: What you value, truly
The part of your chart connected to personal finances, self-worth, and what you consider yours to keep is unsettled at the time of the Lunar eclipse and through mid-March. Ketu asks: what are you holding onto because it once defined you, not because it still serves you? This could manifest as a release around income, possessions, or the internal story of what you think you do or do not deserve. Remember, the emotional body is doing the accounting that a spreadsheet cannot. With your chart ruler Moon eclipsed, this event is especially significant for you. Give yourself space to feel the full weight of what is shifting, without rushing to fill the void.
Leo: The self at the threshold
This eclipse is yours in the most direct sense. Your identity, your physical body, your face you show to the world...all of it is in the eclipse field. Ketu conjunct the Moon in Leo dissolves the edges of the self, loosens your grip on ego, and can even brings a peculiar sense of invisibility or unreality around who you are. This is the shedding of a layer that has run its course. The Aquarius stellium, (including your chart ruler Sun) opposite the Moon, pulls your focus toward relationships. You do not have to meet it at full force. Turn inward. Let the eclipse show you what remains when the performance falls away.
Virgo: Quiet completion
Something beneath the surface is ready to be released. This eclipse emphasizes matters associated with solitude, rest, hidden grief, and what accumulates in the unconscious. Ketu in the 12th house is in the zone, dissolving what has quietly gathered in the shadows. Something may surface that has been influencing you for months. Let it be felt without needing to analyze it to pieces. With your chart ruler Mercury retrograde and with Rahu in Aquarius, the mind is less reliable than usual as an instrument of logic and right now. Trust what comes through in your dreams. Rest IS the work.
Libra: Networks in motion
Ketu is quietly clearing space for you connected to your most casual friendships, social networks, community belonging, and the long-term aspirations that orient your life. Connections that have completed their purpose may fall away, not necessarily through drama, but through natural dissolution. With Venus, your chart ruler in Pisces and no longer caught inside the eclipse field, there is slightly more room to breathe. But the question this Lunar Eclipse raises is real: which communities are genuinely nourishing you, and which have become performative obligations? Let what needs to release, release. Space created now will be filled by something more aligned.
Scorpio: Visibility and its costs
Career, public reputation, and the direction you have been building toward is where the Lunar Eclipse and Ketu now asks for a loosening. There may be a quiet stepping back from a public role, a shift in how invested you are in your public reputation, or an exit from a position that has served its time. Mars, your co-ruler, is caught in the high-voltage Rahu stellium in Aquarius, and the emotional foundations are also stirring beneath your public role and career objectives. What you are building toward and what you are being asked to release are part of the same story. Navigate carefully, this is a threshold.
Sagittarius: Beliefs on the altar
Something you have counted on as philosophical bedrock, either a teacher, a worldview, an organizing belief about how life works, may dissolve during this eclipse. Ketu moves through your sphere of higher truth and the meaning-making frameworks that have guided your life choices. This is growth outpacing the container. With Jupiter, your chart ruler, finally direct March 10, and casting his gaze toward your rising sign, wisdom is available. But it arrives through surrender more than proclamation. Your truth is being refined and expanded.
Capricorn: What's shared, and what's gone
Ketu is quietly stripping back anything that is excess related to shared resources, joint finances, inherited emotional patterns, and the psychological terrain of deep transformation. What is no longer essential in a shared arrangement, financial or otherwise, may be completing. With Saturn, your chart ruler, still navigating the fog of its recent Neptune conjunction, the boundary between what is real and what is being projected onto a situation is genuinely thin right now. If possible hold of on making permanent decisions about what you share in your partnerships either financially or emotionally, while the eclipse is still settling through mid-March. Let the full picture emerge before you act.
Aquarius: The mirror speaks
The solar eclipse two weeks ago occured in your first house and your identity. The Lunar Eclipse is now opposite that point, and is focused on your committed romantic or business partnerships. Ketu is now dissolving something in how you relate to others, or in a specific relationship itself. The contrast between your own inner momentum and what a close partner needs may be striking. Sun, Mercury retrograde, Mars, and Rahu all in your ascendant right now may feel like your agenda is pulling hard in one direction while the relational axis quietly asks for a different kind of attention. Be present to both. The relationship is the work.
Pisces: The body knows
Daily routines, health, the systems that keep your ordinary life moving day-to-day is where the eclipse asks for release now. Schedules that have served their time, health patterns being quietly shed, a recalibration of how and for whom you give your energy is up for review during this Lunar Eclipse. Ketu transiting through this part of your chart also loosens what was held too tightly, sometimes with your permission, sometimes without it. With Jupiter, your chart ruler, stationing direct on March 10 and carrying the wisdom gained from its retrograde period, you are emerging from an internal emotional cycle with more clarity than you had the last four months. Trust what your body is communicating. It has been processing what the mind hasn't finished catching up to.
