Understanding Gandānta

Gandānta marks sensitive transitional points in the zodiac between water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) and fire signs (Leo, Sagittarius, Aries). While some traditions consider the entire 3°20′ nakshatra pada as gandānta, others focus on just the first or last degree of these signs. Sometimes this is referred to as "Krūra sandhi" (cruel boundary) and represents profound points of transformation within the zodiac.
