July 9 New Moon in the Star of Renewal

The new Moon is at its darkest on July 9 at 6:15 pm Pacific Time, only a few hours before sunset here in the Pacific Northwest. Check the western horizon at that time to honor the new Moon energy!

There is a flowing influence from expansive Jupiter, while Mercury, ruler of Gemini also stands in full support of this new Moon energy!

One watch out - nebulous Neptune is also in harmony with this new Moon energy. Be sure that the Neptunian rose colored glasses are removed when setting your intentions for this new Moon!

You can find the best hours for new beginnings detailed below.

Regardless of your rising sign, there will be an underlying energy of airy Gemini is associated with this new Moon:

New Moon in Punarvasu Nakshatra: What is it good for?

From my book, Vedic Astrology for Beginners: An Introduction to the Origins and Concepts of Jyotish

PUNARVASU - “RETURN OF THE LIGHT”

Deity: Aditi

Symbol: The Bow and Quiver of Arrows

Shakti: The Power to Gain Wealth

Quality: Movable

Aditi is the great Celestial Mother, representing fertility, motherhood, freedom, and unboundedness. Aditi could be translated as “without limit,” and her limitless nature can also extend to the nurturing qualities that emanate from the human heart. She is also the mother of the Adi-tyas, who are the solar deities that are known as givers of wealth. She is the wife of Vishnu, the great preserver, and Aditi supports his function as upholder of the cosmic order.

Punarvasu nakshatra energy is moveable and fantastic for achieving your objectives!

Combined with the new Moon energy, this is a powerful new Moon Punarvasu nakshatra for new beginnings. I have also indicated the rising signs most suited to each type of new beginning.

Networking (Gemini, Leo, and Sagittarius)

New relationships and getting married (Sagittarius, Gemini)

Beginning projects (Aries, Gemini)

Taking a workshop or starting new studies (Libra)

Travel (Libra long distance, Aries short distance)

Healing work, spirituality, and meditation

Planting in your garden (all!)

Starting new creative works (Aries, Aquarius)

buying a home or vehicle (Pisces)

Of course, Punarvasu is supportive for these matters for all rising signs but doubly so for the rising signs I have indicated above next to each subject.

Sidereal Forecasts!

This is just a reminder for those who are new to my new and full Moon forecasts and other articles -- my forecasts are created using the sidereal zodiac calculations.

Your rising sign, and other planets in your birth chart will usually (but not 100% of the time) shift signs from your tropically calculated horoscope. Sidereal calculations are about 24 degrees (less than) different than tropical calculations.
